Gutter Cleaning in Brisbane

Cleared properly, not just skimmed. And always done as part of a roof clean — because leaving chemical and dead lichen sitting in a blocked gutter would be a rubbish way to finish a job.

Why it matters more in Brisbane than people think

A blocked gutter in a Brisbane summer is not a tidiness problem, it is a water problem. When a storm dumps 40mm in twenty minutes and the gutters cannot take it, the water goes over the edge, back under the eaves, or into the fascia. By the time you can see the damage from the ground, it has usually been happening for a while.

Leaf litter also holds moisture against the metal permanently, which is how gutters rust from the inside out and why they fail years earlier than they should.

What we actually do

Clear the gutters out properly rather than pushing debris along to the next section, check and clear downpipes, and take the waste with us. If we find damage, cracked seams, rusted-through sections or fascia that is going soft, we tell you and show you a photo. We do not fix gutters, so there is nothing in it for us to invent a problem.

Included with every roof clean

A roof clean flushes dirty water, dead moss and chemical straight into the gutters. So we clear them afterwards, every time. It is not always a separate free line item, but it always gets done — we are not walking away leaving that sitting in your gutters.

Rinsing out a cleared gutter after removing the debris
Cleared, then rinsed

Debris out by hand, then a rinse through so the run is actually flowing rather than just looking empty from the ladder. Downpipes checked at the same time.

Common questions

How often should gutters be done?

Once a year for most Brisbane homes. Twice if you have big gums or jacarandas over the roof — and if you are in Graceville, Chelmer or Tarragindi with mature trees close in, assume twice.

Do I need to be home?

No.

Do you take the debris away?

Yes. It does not get left in a pile beside the bin.

Can you use a drone to look first?

We can. Drone inspection is useful on steep or high roofs where getting up there just to look is not worth the risk, and it means you see exactly what we are seeing.

Do you clear downpipes too?

Yes, we check and clear them. A clean gutter feeding a blocked downpipe has not really been fixed.

Real gutters, real Brisbane rooflines

Before and after

This is what a year under gum trees looks like, and why a storm goes over the edge instead of down the pipe.

Not just scooping
The debris comes out by hand first, then the whole run gets flushed. Scooping alone leaves a layer of silt that sets hard and starts the blockage again.

Single or double storey, and roughly how long since they were last done. If you want the roof done at the same time, it works out better than booking them separately.
